Our Story

True Justice International, originally the Pearl Ministry, began in 2011 when Founder Sarah Tellis felt a burden to reach the nations and fight the injustices fueling human trafficking. Sarah mobilized volunteers and began educating the community, spreading human trafficking awareness throughout Eastern North Carolina and beyond. Sharing the Message of the Pearl bracelets with other ministries around the world and conducting local and international training classes, Sarah and her team have worked relentlessly to fight the injustices of human trafficking. Sarah served on the Human Trafficking Commission Board for 4 years using her knowledge and connections to advise on important state bills which directly impacted the awareness of human trafficking in North Carolina.

With the outpouring from the community and assistance of Sarah’s dedicated team, True Justice opened their first restoration home, Anna’s House, for human trafficking survivors in 2017. After passing the torch in 2018, Sarah now enjoys spending time with her husband Dr. Angelo Tellis and their 3 kids. She continues to be a strong advocate for survivors.
